I’ve been a bit quiet here on this blog for the last few weeks, so here’s a bit of a retrospective on what’s been happening lately…
I was barely home a week from Alaska when I shipped off again, this time to California for a few days of work on Lightroom. Over the Labor Day weekend, I met up with some friends of mine for a backpacking trip in the Sierras east of Fresno. I haven’t been backpacking in umm… several years now, and it kind of kicked my butt. I came home with some rather unpleasant side-effects of high altitude and low hydration. Spent the week following Labor Day recuperating as best I could just as work was going from busy to hyper-busy.
A little more than a week ago Tara convinced me to join her in a game of racquetball. We used to play some years ago, and as part of our effort to get more fit, Tara had started playing again a few weeks ago. So I finally agreed to go along and we had a great game. Racquetball is one of the best ways to burn a whole pile of calories in a heck of a hurry. We played for about an hour, and when our time on the court was up, we looked around and found nobody waiting for the court, so we decided to play on for another ten minutes. Five minutes into overtime, I went for a ball near the wall, hit the wall, and landed badly. Very badly. So badly I wound up in the ER with a sprained ankle. I’m now back to walking almost normally, but the running and racquetball will have to wait a while.
Oh, and did I mention work was hyper-busy? The reason is we’ve just released another public beta of Lightroom. Now that that’s done, things should go back from hyper-busy to just plain ol’ busy, which is why I’m back to blogging again.
